Instagram stories offer a lot of opportunities for growing your followers and improving brand awareness. If you haven’t tried Instagram stories yet, it’s about time you do!
Here are some tips to get you started in growing your followers through Instagram stories.
1. Interact with your followers through Instagram Story polls, quizzes, and questions
Instagram polls and questions are great tools for getting to know your audience.
Improve your engagement by starting a survey or asking a question. With the way Instagram’s algorithm is set up, the more that your audience interacts with you, the more often your posts will be visible to them. So, if you feel that you need a little boost in engagement, do polls or questions regularly.
2. Use the right stickers
Did you know that there are stickers you could use to help you reach a wider audience?
Instagram has a range of stickers you could choose from. Depending on the Instagram story you’re making, you could use a location sticker and a mention sticker. They have also recently rolled out a “Support Small Business” sticker, which is perfect especially when you’re doing a campaign with another business.
For instance, you’re running a promo for a specific location. A location sticker would be perfect for that Instagram story. When people search for that location, they will be able to see your post.
3. Make sure to add your website or a call-to-action
Apart from growing your followers on Instagram, Instagram stories could help you grow your email list, too!
Do you have at least 10K followers? Then, you’ve unlocked the Swipe Up feature! Make sure to maximise it by using it to direct your followers to your website or email list sign up.
Don’t have that feature yet? No worries! You could use the “DM Me” sticker to get your followers into your inbox where you could conveniently share your links.
4. Don’t forget to analyse
If you really want to make the most of Instagram stories, analysing the performance of your past stories is essential. It will let you know which types of Instagram stories resonate more with your followers.
When you know the type of content your target audience like, you could tweak your social media strategy to ensure better performance of your Instagram stories and posts.
5. Share your posts on your stories, too
Sharing your Instagram posts as Instagram Stories ensure that your followers won’t miss any of your posts. As a result, you get engagement for both your Story and post — especially if they click through the post.
And you know what happens when you have higher engagement, your post and Story visibility improves, too!
6. Remember your hashtags
There’s one more sticker that you definitely shouldn’t forget to use. Hashtag stickers help followers and non-followers discover your content on Instagram.
Although you could only have one hashtag sticker per Story, you could use the text function to add more hashtags. Just take it easy on the hashtags. It’s not the same as a regular Instagram post where you could use as much as 30 hashtags. Additionally, your Story wouldn’t look appealing if you use too many hashtags.
